One of the brackets that you can draw on My Next Match is Double Elimination with Repechage, which comes in two versions:
- Double Elimination with Loser Bracket to Final
- Quarter-Final Repechage
Repechage is a type of double elimination bracket, where an athlete that has one loss can still reach the finals and compete for a gold medal.
Athletes that have lost one match are transferred onto the Repechage bracket, continuing from the relevant tier that they were at.
As an example, let's say that we have the following bracket with 8 athletes:
When the bracket is drawn, depending on the properties specified, the athletes will be placed into the tree:
At the beginning of the tournament, the repechage tree will naturally be empty. As the matches are played, the repechage tree will begin getting filled.
In our example, the winners of Round 1 of 3 will move to the next tier while the losers will be transferred into Repechage 1 of 4.
Let's do the remaining matches in Round 1 of 3 and see how the trees will look:
Now, we're in Round 2 of 3 and Repechage 2 of 4. The winners of Round 2 of 3 will naturally move forward, but the losers will be transferred to Repechage 2 of 4 this time and will compete against the winners of Repechage 1 of 4:
The brackets will progress this way up until the finals:
The losers from the last two tiers of the Repechage tree get a bronze medal each. The winner of the Repechage tree competes against the winner of the top tree, and the winner will get a gold, the loser will get a silver medal:

Note: Double Elimination with Quarter-Final Repechage works the same way, with the exception that losers up until the quarter finals are eliminated forever, and the Repechage tree starts only at the quarter finals.
